Community Education Center, the educational division of COC, hosted an impactful workshop, Empowering Parents to Support Anxious Children, presented by Dr. Eli Lebowitz, a leading expert in childhood anxiety and Director of the Anxiety and Mood Disorders Program at the Yale Child Study Center.

The workshop focused on understanding childhood anxiety and the important role parents play in helping children thrive. Drawing on his evidence-based SPACE approach, Dr. Lebowitz shared practical strategies to support anxious children while reducing accommodations that may unintentionally reinforce anxiety. Participants gained valuable tools to help build confidence, resilience, and independence in children.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many describing the workshop as practical, insightful, and highly valuable. One parent shared that it “gave me a broader picture of my child’s inner world.”

COC is grateful for the opportunity to continue providing meaningful programming that empowers parents, educators, and families.
