COC hosted its annual Safety Awareness Day on Sunday, May 17th, with an enthusiastic turnout of over 4,500 children and families.
More than 3,000 bicycle helmets were distributed to eligible participants. The Town of Ramapo Police Department and The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office participated in the event and assisted in properly fitting helmets for the children. Informational flyers and giveaways focused on bicycle and pedestrian safety were shared with attendees.
Children enjoyed free handouts, exciting raffles, refreshing treats, and professional face painting. The energy and engagement from families created a fun and meaningful atmosphere throughout the day.
COC is especially grateful to its event sponsors, including: Fidelis Care, Chestnut Ridge Transportation, Light It Up Rentals, Mehadrin, Webster Bank, WMC Health, Arrive Taxi, Rockland Kosher, Orange & Rockland Utilities, Sunrise Popcorn, Mr. Joy, BusPatrol, The Monsey View, KeyBank, The Community Connections, Montefiore Nyack Hospital and the Office of the Rockland County Legislature.
These generous sponsors helped make the event possible and played a critical role in promoting health and safety throughout the community.
The success of this year’s event reflects COC’s ongoing commitment to impactful, family-friendly programming—and inspires us to continue prioritizing the well-being of our community.
